Subscriptions: Pro, Coach & Family
The Metric subscription tiers — what each includes and where to subscribe.
Metric offers three paid tiers — Pro, Coach and Family — plus a free tier. For current pricing, see the pricing page.
Free
- Full workout logging — build and log 100% of your strength workouts in Metric.
- Unlimited velocity-tracked sets (recording and importing).
- Manual entry for non-barbell exercises in your workout.
- 7-day training history.
- 2 program templates.
- Exercise library and custom exercises.
- Basic rep metrics, plus velocity loss and consistency metrics.
- Bar path tracking.
- Video playback and export.
- Automatic rest timer.
Pro
The individual paid tier. Includes everything in Free, plus:
- Real-time feedback (audio cues and on-screen overlays).
- Tempo metronome.
- Estimated 1RM and load-velocity profiles.
- Velocity trends and readiness signals.
- Personal records and PR badges.
- Performance charts.
- Unlimited program templates (Free is capped at 2).
- Unlimited training history.
- In-app video storage in the searchable library.
- Training data export.
Family
Family plans give Pro features for up to 4 members total under a single subscription. Each member has their own independent account, training history and PRs, and family members can view each other’s workouts and history but not edit them. Billing is shared and managed by the family owner.
Note that Family accounts don’t include the multi-athlete recording features that Coach plans have.
Coach
Everything in Pro, plus multi-athlete management:
- Coach Mode roster management.
- Team leaderboard.
- Multi-athlete workout logging on your coach devices.
- Program delivery to athletes (single, group, or full-roster program sharing).
- Team data exports.
- Coach-side notifications and event tracking.
- Pro for everyone on your team — athletes get Pro on their own devices.
- Web dashboard.

Athletes on a Coach roster don’t need their own paid subscription, Pro is unlocked on all coach and athlete devices once you invite them to join.
Where to subscribe
You can upgrade to Pro, Family, and the 5- and 10-athlete Coach plans directly in-app on Android or iOS:
Account → Membership → Choose plan. This subscribes you via the App Store or Play Store.

Switching tiers
You can switch plans or tiers at any time. There are no lock-in contracts and no switching costs — any remaining paid-for subscription is pro-rated into your new plan, so you’re never out of pocket for the difference.
Tip: Switching from a Coach plan back to Free or Pro (solo) removes Pro access for your athletes, and you’ll lose coach permission to view your team’s training history.
Cancelling
Cancelling a subscription drops you back to the free tier — your data and account remain intact.
Refunds
- App Store — Apple handles refunds via Apple Support.
- Play Store — Google handles refunds via Google Play Support.
- Web — Metric handles refunds directly.
