Supported iPhones, iPads and Android phones for Metric — Docs

Check your phone against the lists below before you record. Metric Lift runs on iPhone, iPad and Android. Metric Jump and Metric Sprint run on iPhone and iPad only.

iPhone

Recommended: iPhone 11 or newer, or iPhone SE (3rd generation) or newer.

Minimum: iOS 18.1 or newer.

iPad

Recommended:

iPad Pro (5th generation, 2022) or newer
iPad (9th generation, 2021) or newer
iPad Air (5th generation, 2022) or newer
iPad mini (6th generation, 2021) or newer

Minimum: iPadOS 18.1 or newer.

On a Mac, coaches use the web dashboard at app.metric.coach to manage athletes and view training history.

Metric Jump and Metric Sprint

Minimum: iOS or iPadOS 26.1 or newer. Both apps run on iPhone and iPad.

The recommended iPhones and iPads are the same as for Metric Lift.

Android

Android phones vary widely in camera and processing power. Metric Lift needs Android 12 or newer.

When you open the camera, Metric Lift checks your phone’s graphics chip. If the phone cannot run tracking, the app shows Device Not Supported. Phones with 6 GB of RAM or more and a 1080p rear camera track most reliably.

These phones can lack the camera or graphics chip that real-time tracking needs. Metric Lift shows Unsupported device on them. Tap Try it anyway to record, and check the bar speed readings against your own feel.
