Subscriptions: Free, Pro, Ultra and Family
The Metric plans — free, per-app Pro, Ultra Solo and Ultra Coach across all three apps, and Family — what each includes and where to subscribe.
Metric is three apps: Metric Lift for barbell velocity, Metric Jump for jump testing, and Metric Sprint for speed and agility. Which plan suits you mostly depends on how many of them you use. For current pricing, see the pricing page.
Free
Every account starts free.
- Full workout logging. Build and log 100% of your strength workouts in Metric Lift.
- Unlimited velocity-tracked sets, recorded or imported.
- Manual entry for non-barbell exercises.
- 7 days of training history.
- 2 active programs. Archived programs don’t count towards the limit.
- Exercise library and custom exercises.
- Mean velocity, range of motion and eccentric tempo, plus RPE and RIR logging.
- Bar path tracking.
- Video playback, export and sharing for 24 hours after recording.
- Automatic rest timer.
Free limits hide data, they never delete it. Older history and locked metrics are still on our servers and reappear the moment you subscribe.
Pro
The individual paid tier, bought inside whichever app you’re using. Pro is specific to that app: Pro in Metric Lift doesn’t unlock Jump or Sprint.
Everything in Free, plus:
- Real-time feedback, both audio cues and on-screen overlays.
- Tempo metronome.
- Estimated 1RM and load-velocity profiles.
- Velocity loss, consistency, and the full set of peak velocity, power and timing metrics.
- Velocity trends and readiness signals.
- Complete personal records, including velocity and power.
- Performance charts.
- Unlimited active programs.
- Unlimited training history.
- In-app video storage in the searchable library.
- Unrestricted training data export.
Note: The in-app video library is the part a paid plan adds. Free accounts can still record, play back, export to the camera roll and use auto-export, but the copy held inside Metric is cleared after 24 hours. A library you’ve already built stays yours if your subscription lapses.
Metric Ultra
Ultra bundles all three apps into a single subscription. It’s sold on the web at app.metric.coach rather than through the app stores.
Ultra Solo gives one athlete Pro across Metric Lift, Metric Jump and Metric Sprint. If you use two or more of the apps, it costs less than stacking separate Pro subscriptions.
Ultra Coach adds roster management on top, priced by how many athletes you carry, from 5 up to 100. For rosters above 100, get in touch and we’ll set it up. Ultra Coach includes:
- Coach Mode roster management.
- Team leaderboards.
- Multi-athlete recording on your coach devices.
- Program delivery to athletes, whether single, group, or full-roster.
- Team data exports.
- Coach-side notifications and event tracking.
- Web dashboard.
- Pro across all three apps for every athlete on your roster, on their own devices.
Athletes on an Ultra Coach roster don’t need their own paid subscription. Invite them and Pro unlocks on their devices for as long as they stay on your roster.
The free coach tier
Converting your profile to a coach account is free, and it connects up to 2 athletes. That’s enough to try Coach Mode properly, though everyone stays on free app features until you subscribe to Ultra Coach. See Coach Mode overview.
Family
Family plans cover up to 4 members under one subscription. Each member has their own account, training history and PRs, and members can view each other’s workouts without being able to edit them. Billing is shared and managed by the family owner.
Two things to know. Family covers Metric Lift only, so it doesn’t extend to Jump or Sprint. It also doesn’t include the multi-athlete recording features that Ultra Coach has.
Day passes
Metric Jump and Metric Sprint sell 24-hour day passes for people who test occasionally rather than every week, and every account gets one free pass to start. Metric Lift doesn’t have day passes.
See Jump access and Sprint access.
Where to subscribe
Pro and Family are bought in-app at Account → Membership → Choose plan, billed through the App Store or Play Store.
Ultra Solo and Ultra Coach are bought on the web at app.metric.coach, billed by card and managed from your account settings there.
Switching tiers
You can switch plans or tiers at any time. There are no lock-in contracts and no switching costs, and any remaining paid-for subscription is pro-rated into your new plan, so you’re never out of pocket for the difference.
On Ultra Coach, adding seats is pro-rated immediately, while reducing seats takes effect at your next renewal.
Tip: Moving from an in-app Pro subscription to Ultra? Subscribe to Ultra first, then cancel in the App Store or Play Store. They’re billed separately, so cancelling on the store side won’t affect your Ultra plan.
Switching from Ultra Coach back to a solo plan removes Pro access for your athletes, and you’ll lose permission to view your team’s training history. Your roster reverts to the free coach tier.
Cancelling
Cancelling drops you back to the free tier at the end of the period you’ve already paid for. Your data and account remain intact.
