Repeat runs

Run the same sprint again and again without touching the phone. Each run saves on its own, and Finish shows every run in one table.

UPDATED

With Repeat runs on, you tap Start once and the athlete keeps running. After each sprint they walk back to the line, stand still, and the next run arms by itself. Tap Finish when the set is done to see every run side by side.

Turn on repeat runs

  1. On the capture screen, tap the test name at the top right.
  2. Turn on Repeat runs.
  3. Pick a sprint.

A repeat icon now shows next to the test name. Metric Sprint keeps the setting until you turn it off, so your next session starts in repeat mode too.

Run a session

  1. Tap Start.
  2. Stand still at the 0 m line until Ready to run shows.
  3. Run. The clock starts on your first movement.
  4. Walk back to the 0 m line. The screen shows your time and Back to the start for run 2.
  5. Stand still at the line. Ready to run shows again and the next run is armed.
  6. Repeat until the set is done, then tap Finish.

Metric Sprint saves each run with its own video as soon as the run ends. After the first run, Cancel becomes Finish with a count of the runs saved, for example Finish (4). Finish does nothing while a run is in progress.

The test locks after the first run, so every run in a session is the same sprint.

Read the session

Finish opens the summary of the last run. With two or more runs, a Runs table sits at the top.

  • One row per run, numbered in order.
  • One column per split, from 0 m to each gate, then peak velocity in m/s.
  • The best value in each column shows in the accent colour.
  • A heart marks a run you saved as a favourite.

Tap a row to load that run’s video and numbers into the cards below the table.

In your history, each run is its own test. You see the session table when you tap Finish.

Coach a group

In Coach Mode, the athlete switcher sits at the top left of the capture screen while Metric Sprint waits for someone at the line. Pick the next athlete before they settle at 0 m. The switcher hides once Metric Sprint finds the athlete and arms the run.

After each run, the athlete’s name shows above the time. The Runs table adds an Athlete column, so a rotation of four athletes over five rounds reads as one table.

Pick the athlete before every run. Each run saves to the last athlete you picked.

Choose the rest

The athlete sets the rest. The next run arms when they stand still with their toes on the 0 m line.

The rest decides what the session measures.

  • Long rest gives a max-speed test. Each run starts fresh, and the best run in the table is the number to keep. It tells you nothing about how the athlete holds speed.
  • Short rest gives repeated-sprint work. The split times climb as the athlete tires, and the climb is the result. The best run is not a true max-speed number.

Read the drop-off from the split columns in the Runs table.

When it goes wrong

  • A short pause after each run. The next run waits until Metric Sprint has filed the last run’s video.
  • The next run does not arm. The athlete is moving at the line, or out of frame. Stand still with your toes on the 0 m line.
  • A run went to the wrong athlete. Open the run from history and change the athlete on its summary. See Reading your sprint data.
