Sharing programs with your team
Build programs on the web dashboard or in Metric Lift, then share them with your whole team or with chosen athletes.
Write a program once, share it, and it shows up on every chosen athlete’s Workout tab in Metric Lift. Athletes train from it on their own phones, or you start it for them in a team workout.
Sharing programs with a roster needs Ultra Coach. You buy it on the web dashboard at app.metric.coach. See Subscriptions.
Build a program
On the web dashboard
- Open app.metric.coach.
- Select Programs in the sidebar, then click New program.
- Name your program.
- Type each exercise with its sets, reps and weight. For example,
rdl 3x8@60. - Drag exercises together to make supersets.
- Add coaching notes with + Coaching notes. Click Done.
Metric saves your work as you go. See Building programs for every shortcut.
In Metric Lift
- On the Workout tab, tap Create a program in the Programming section.
- Tap Add exercises, and drag them to reorder.
- Name your program.
- For each exercise, add sets, planned weights, target reps, and suggested RPE or RIR targets.
- Tap Save program.
With Pro or Ultra, you can turn a finished workout that did not start from a program into a program. Tap Finish workout, then Save and end workout, then Save workout & create program. The exercises, sets, weights and reps carry over.
You can duplicate, edit and delete programs from your library at any time.
Supersets in programs
Programs keep their supersets, and athletes see them when they start the workout. Superset notes stay on the web, so put instructions for athletes in an exercise note. See Supersets.
Share a program
On the web dashboard, click Share in the builder, or open the ⋯ menu on the Programs page and choose Share. Switch on Share with entire team, or pick athletes under Share with athletes.
In Metric Lift:
- Tap ⋯ on the program card.
- Tap Share with team.
- Switch on Share with entire team, or tick athletes under Athletes.
- Tap Save.
The program appears on each chosen athlete’s Workout tab. You can also pick it for them when you start a team workout. See Multi-athlete workouts.
What athletes can change
Athletes can change loads, reps and sets, and add, switch or skip exercises as they train. Those changes stay in that one workout. The program in your library does not change.
When you edit a shared program, athletes get the new version straight away. A workout already in progress keeps the version the athlete started.
Stop sharing a program
In Metric Lift, tap ⋯ on the program card, then Manage sharing. On the web dashboard, open Share again. Switch off Share with entire team, or untick athletes.
The program leaves those athletes’ apps. Workouts they already completed from it stay in their history.
When it goes wrong
- Share with team is missing. Sharing comes with Ultra Coach. On the Free plan with Coach Mode, build programs for yourself and for team workouts. Free keeps 2 programs active at a time.
- Cancel deletes the program. In the web builder, Cancel deletes it, even a saved one. Click Done to keep it.
