Tempo Metronome — Audible Pacing for Controlled Eccentrics and Paused Reps
Audio cues that keep your lifting tempo consistent — useful for controlled eccentrics, paused work, and bodybuilding-style time-under-tension training.
The tempo metronome plays audio beeps every one second during your set to keep the rep timing consistent. Useful for controlled eccentrics, paused reps, and any work where time-under-tension matters.
How to set it up
- Open the recording screen for the exercise.
- Tap the feedback controls (megaphone icon).
- Toggle on the tempo control.
- Start the recording. The metronome plays a 1-second beep once recording begins to help you keep time.
Pair with earbuds if you’re worried about disturbing other lifters — the audio plays wherever your device is set to play.
Pairing with tempo metrics
While the metronome doesn’t enforce tempo directly, Metric does track your eccentric, concentric and pause (top and bottom) tempo durations as rep data points, allowing you to review your actual tempo across the set after recording, a great feedback and learning tool. Try a set with and without the tempo feedback and see the difference!
